This is very popular in Germany. Once I was visiting a german JW family, went to the bathroom, and they even had it written in there as instructions: "Men, please pee while seated". It seemed so obscure to me, that, I have to admitt, I did not follow their instructions, and did pee as the men in all other countries. (I felt guilty a little bit...) Than I saw it at many other places and realized it is really common overthere.
Well, germans are very organized, thats why I decided not to be a german...

So I visited birthday party of my dad and brother ... after 18 years!!!
by Albert Einstein inthis week my dad and my brother celebrated in my brothers house their birthday (they were born almost on the same date...).
none of my family is a jw.. i shortly called my brother on that morning and asked if i can come over.
he said ok, so i came to his house, told them iam learning to celebrate birthdays again and gave them a bottle of good wine for my brother and a big bottle of good honey for my dad (he is sick).

Thank you all for you support! Without you it would not be so easy! I am here for just couple of weeks, but seeing so many friends in similar situation and feeling your supprot made a big turnover in my attitude toward JW.

by Tatiana ini seem to remember articles concerning jws not being allowed to watch or participate in boxing matches because of how violent they are.
i did a search yet can't seem to find anything.
anyone remember this?.

I shortly called my brother on that morning and asked if I can come over. He said OK, so I came to his house, told them Iam learning to celebrate birthdays again and gave them a bottle of good wine for my brother and a big bottle of good honey for my dad (he is sick). My dad asked without ridicule "Whats new? any new doctrines?" So I told him: "No new doctrins anymore, Iam leaving JWs".
They were very nice, asking questions about my JW wife, if our marriage is OK and so.... So it was after 18 years for the first time I celebrated birthday within my family. It took some courage to do it - because I really felt like an idiot for the first 15 minutes - after many years zealously defending watchtower doctrines admiting I was wrong ... But the feeling after was great, my dad is old and very sick, I am happy he knows what the situation with me is now.

My JW Life... (LONG)
by silent ini never, ever thought i would ever be posting on a board such as this but here i am.
i've been reading the boards for several months and despite my initial conscience twinges, i couldn't help but follow a logical thought process on many issues that were causing me grief.
over this past week, due to the things i've read on here, i've had a massive cloud lift from me and i'm starting to feel joy and love in my heart that i've *never* felt before.

Do you have chronological Bible reading schedulle?
by Albert Einstein inmy "apostate" friend recomended me to start chronological reading of nt with my still zealous wife, to help her to see wtbs and jw system does not fit to how christians in the first century were organized.
he said to find chronologial reading schedulle is easy on the internet.
i did try, but not succesfully.
